What an Experience!
I stood in my driveway watching two of my friends taking turns riding the brand new scooter I had gotten previously that summer morning. We were all about eight years old and carefree about everything except having fun. It was Jake's turn and he asked James to give him a push so he could achieve a higher speed. Jake saw the pothole in the road, but he must have assumed it was smaller and smoother than I did. James gave him a push right before Jake came to the pothole, though unaware that it was there because he couldn't see around Jake's body. As soon as Jake hit the pothole, he went soaring into the air and landed flat on his face. He ran home screaming while blood fell from his nose like a nose that would expose mucus on a very cold winter day. When Jake was out of sight, James and I still remained where we had stood last, speechless and shocked at what we had just seen.

I really enjoyed the descriptive language you used in this. It really adds when trying to visualize the situation. I dont understand how a nose describes another nose, bu overall it is a pretty good start with characters being developed as well.
ReplyDeletei like how you went into alot of details in this story. it is a really nice way to start thining but obviously you will have to go into much more detail when it comes time for the paper
